Digital Fun..... making Journals!

So awhile back I started playing around with Digital collage, it is an interesting art form and a great way to be creative without all the mess....but if you are like me you love the mess!
So for gifts I began taking my collage works and incorporating them with journals and creating my own hand altered journals. well they became such a hit that I began a little side business selling them at the holidays.
I wanted to share a few of my designs with you and show you another way to use the free images I give out each week. this is also a wonderful way to create ATC's, cards, hand altered books...you name it.
You will need Photoshop or photoshop elements to create digital collages and using the blending tools you will start with a basic digital background (you can scan in a piece of favorite paper and create your own) then using gif images with the backgrounds removed start layering them on. then print out the art once it is done and and using inks ink the edge then you can embellish using stickles. smooch inks, crystal gems, pearls...sky's the limit. As my book base I purchased journals from Hobby Lobby and covered them, that way the insides are as beautiful as the out. It is a fun way to create a special gift when you are short on time.
Below are a few of my books hope you enjoy them!

Celtic Journey Journal

This one I actually used Graphics 45 Steam Punk Debutant papers, Tim Holtz Cogs, May arts ribbon and MM trim.

Have fun!
