HAVE YOUR SELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS BOOK

So my Make it Monday sample this month is a fun little 6"x6" mini album which features an array of Digital stamps from the Gecko Galz 'Figgy Pudding' stamp disk. Also I combined them with amazing Christmas papers from Paper Studio and ribbon from May Arts as well as some odds and ends found around the Christmas section of Hobby Lobby. Okay so here is one of my most favorite things to do...go into a craft store and pick a section and make myself find something in that section that will inspire a project.....this time it was the Christmas section of Hobby Lobby where I found the charming rusted snow flake mini ornaments I used as my charms and also some mini swags for trim! and from these two items sprung the idea to do a mini book!

so I started with a 6x6 bare naked book by Bo Bunny and covered each page with festive holiday papers. by paper studio. Next I purchased a shaped wooden piece (but you can use chipboard too) and covered it with some great Graphics 45 holiday paper and distressed with pearl metallic paint added a paper doilie the punched the reindeer stamp using my Marvy circle punch in 3" and inked with red, green, and brown distress inks by Ranger. I layered them all onto the front cover and finished with a red bow.

The inside cover I used the angel Noel stamp to create a pocket and inked with the same inks as I used on the 1st stamp. With a piece of cream card stock and greet card stock I made a removable photo mat. On the next page I created a pocket pack with a 12x12 piece of red card stock and added a cream card stock photo mat to front along with a rectangle of green and red pop doted up for journaling as well as lace and a snowflake button with twine tied through the holes. Inside the pocket I placed a shipping tag for more pictures and tied a piece of Martha Stewart red tensile yarn through the hole.

for the next two pages it is the flip side of the first pocket page and another pocket page created using the same red card stock. I used a piece of my red ribbon down each outer edge of the pages and places a doilie in the upper center section of each page then using my reindeer stamp and holiday lady stamp created a pocket after inking them. I cut out a rectangle of Green and created a tag to slip into each pocket for hidden sentiments and as my pull tabs I used a piece of left over ribbon and a small snowflake embellishment. also in the second pocket page I added another shipping tag.

For these two pages it is the opposite side of the second pocket page and the front of the third pocket page. I took my decorative paper piece and tore in half then inked the edges with green and layered them on the outside edge of each page. Next I cut two green photo mats and using the banner stamps added text to the page. and like before I placed another shipping tag inside the pocket of the third packet page.

For the Next two pages I used the back side of the third pocket page and the front of the forth pocket page and taking my decorative paper followed along the design to create page toppers. Using green card stock I created a photo mat for each page and made a belly band using the small trim I found in the Christmas section. when you put this on make sure you only connect it on the non photo mat areas so your picture can slip onto the mat.

For these two pages I used the backside of the 4th pocket page and layered on trim at the bottom made from graphics 45 paper then the Santa stamp which I colored  with copic markers. Next I layered on my paper doilie and two photo mats in red and green. Then using bakers twine and a mini banner punch I created the banner he is holding which reads Believe.
On the inside back cover I did the same thing I did on the front inside cover creating a pocket with a removable photo mat.

For my Back cover I used another stamp and inked it again using the green, red and brown then mated it in green card stock with a piece of red behind that. I punched my holes using my crop-a-dile and added binder rings by 7 gypsies and tied on red bows and my rustic snow flake charm.

This is a great little gift to give to loved ones filled with pictures from Christmas Past!
So go out....challenge yourself and see what fun things can happen at the craft shop!
Happy crafting
Leanne
