FREEBIES JUST FOR YOU!

Hi everyone!

Well CKC San Marcos was a smashing good time and thanks to everyone who came out and supported us and my classes. Now that summer is coming to a close and all things fall are on our mind I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favorite pansy flower images with everyone, I see a pansy and I always think of fall and how at my childhood home they would surround the big tree out front in the fall....good times!
Also remember if you do projects using my pictures do a thread so everyone can see your beautiful work....ok its so I can see your beautiful work, I love looking at other peoples projects and ooing and aweing over them. This weekend is the big Antique weekend in Wharington and Roundtop Texas so if you are around that area just travel down 247 to Wharington and go to the "Little White House" (it is just beside the "Legal Tender Saloon" which happens to have the yummiest BBQ EVER!) and step inside and take a look at all the findings buttons and goodies, it will inspire anyone to create something beautiful....say hi to Sandi and LeeAnne from Cat and Leanne lol, they are great folks.
So please enjoy the pictures and happy scrappin to everyone!

Here comes Halloween!!!!!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, next to Christmas I cant think of any other time where you can create such magical and whimsical paper crafts so I thought it would be fun to share with everyone my "Spooky Little Curio Cabinet". This is a wonderful way to show off those cute little trinkets and pictures we have collected over the years.
So what I used to create this spooky little curio was assorted halloween papers including the new line by "Authentique" called "Glowing" this is an amazing Halloween paper set and it double sided which is always good! Also I found my glass front curio cabinet at Hobby Lobby in the wood section, I love this cabinet because number one it is affordable and has a wonderful closure on the side so you can keep changing things each year. I colored the wood using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in "Very Purple" and "Coffee Shop" and I sprayed both the outside and inside working with both colors...this is a great wood coloring system because it give a bit of a shimmer to it.
Then I used Gecko Galz ephemeras "Witching Hour", "Bump in the Night" and the forth comming exclusive ephemera set "Samhain Dominos" (this one is only available to their news letter subscribers).

As for the trinkets I found some at Micheals and others at Hobby Lobby but then I came across this amazing little shop called Crickets and Caterpillers in Houston that is a minatures / dollhouse shop and found these little books and the treat bag.
One of the things I really enjoyed doing was using cute mini Halloween stamps by Inkadinkadoo (you can find them in the $1 bin at most JoAnnes stores) and Staz On ink and stamp a boarder down the left side of my glass.
And then I hit the Halloween isle at Micheals and found not only the spider webing that I strung all over my cabinet but also found a batch of black roses that had amazing glitter on it and the two plaskit skeletons that sit on either side of the rose (they were a swag I cut apart).
Then add your torn paper, a little trim, and copper paint and you have a wonderful little curio cabinet that will spook up any party or haunted castle!
Sooooooo as a treat I am sharing a few of my favorite witch images for you to make your own Halloween goodies....also if you ever make items using the images I share I would love to see them feel free to send a thread or if you dont have a blog send them to me at fripperiesandbutterflies@yahoo.com and I will post the pictures with a shout out, everyone deserves a bit of fame for their artful creations!
Have a happy week
Leanne

Welcome to September

Hi Everyone

As Texas is being over come with massive wild fires my heart goes out to everyone who has lost their homes, their pets and in some cases even loved ones. A friend of mine lost her house and everything in it and the thought of loosing everything you work hard to get and all of your life long mementos is so hard to think about. So I ask everyone if you can please donate to the red cross to help all the people out who have lost everything.
Now for you all I have some free images to inspire your creative juices. This month I am sharing some of my pretty little parasol images I hope you all enjoy them.
Also I am giving away 4 "Oh La La" mini book kits to celebrate teaching at the San Marcos CKC. Just leave a message here and email me at fripperiesandbutterflies@gmail.com with you email address and that will put you in the running. Then on September 30th I will give away 4 book kits to 4 lucky people. The kit comes with everything you need to create the book plus full instructions with photos. Good luck to everyone!
