BANNERS ABOUND

So this week my work mate Kaydee is celebrating her birthday and of corse why buy a card when one can be made then I saw that one of my favorite challenge blog sites City Crafter Challenge was having a birthday banner challenge and I figured what a fun inspiration! So I took that challenge and with help from Gecko Galz and Opticillusions I created this charming little fairy card for Kaydee.

So for this card I used the Free gift collage sheet "Butterfly Girls" (you get it when you make a purchase at Gecko Galz this month) and the party hat and cup cake from the "birthday bash" collection, also I got the banners from Opticillusions "The Measure of Time" pack. The paper is Graphics 45 and a paper doilie by wilton and added some Ranger Icecicles for bling.

I also did a great mermaid card for my friend Julie who loves mermaids and this time I used the banner as a decoration rather than the usual banners.

So for this card I used another Gecko Galz Image for the "Nouveau" collage sheet along with GCD papers, vintage pearl buttons, May Arts ribbon and paper banners.

So I thought it might be fun to share one of my favorite banners and you can go forth create an amazing card or other project and enter the City Crafters challenge yourself!

FLOWERS AND PEARLS

Good Morning everyone!

So this week Red Rubber Inspirations is doing a brand new challenge "More Precious than Pearls" and I thought it might be fun to dig out my Viva pearl pens and create a few cards. I LOVE these pens because you can do just the size you want based on how hard you squeeze the pen. And if you have not seen them before they are amazing and come in an array of colors.

Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's online and a multitude of online shops carry them and it is well worth the money investing in a white and cream color pen, it is one of my staples.
So I came up with three cards that I wanted to share with you that not only feature the pen but also amazing products from Gecko Galz and charming little flowers!

A DAY FOR ROSES CARD

for this card I used a Gecko Galz Image from their "Garden Treasures" Jewel It Set, Coordinations papers, EK Success punch, White Pearl Pen, Mini Roses from my stash, Teal seam binding ribbon, embossed paper from JoAnn's.

YOUR MY CUP OF TEA CARD

For this card I used Papers by K & Co and card stock by Coordinations, the image is from Gecko Galz  "for the birds" collage set, Teal seam binding ribbon, mulberry paper roses in teal, manilla tag, Stamp sentiment, butterfly finding by Webster Pages, Cameo from my stash.

HELLO FRIEND CARD

for this card I used Coordinations yellow card stock, White pearl pen, Printed paper by Paper Pizzaz, Image from Gecko Galz  "Spring beauties", Hello Friend stamp sentiment, yellow crochet trim from my stash and organza flowers with pearls from JoAnns.

I hope this inspires you to go get a pearl pen and start creating your very own  cards with pearls!

The Art Of Vintage

This month Gecko Galz has teamed up with another amazing company to show how other companies blend so well with their products and we were lucky enough to work with products from VINTAGE BY ME and I used their Jane Austen images to create this little altered frame.

In photoshop I added the text TODAY TOMORROW ALWAYS and printed it out onto cream cardstock to 4"x 6". Next I took my frame that I purchased at the 99 cents store and added pearl white paint to the outside with a sea sponge for a great texture. Once that had dried I added two drawer knobs with E6000 to either side then I added 4 antique square metal buttons to the inside corners with the same adhesive.
Next after that has all dried I added some lovely lace and ribbons from May Arts, Webster Pages,
and M & J Trims as well as my vintage velvet flowers on the top of the frame.
Last I added my little vintage inspired trinkets to the inner base plus a lovely feather ephemera piece from GECKO GALZ  Violets are Blue Collage set.

Vintage is always in style and items like this one makes wonderful mothers day gifties, so feel free to take my ideas and create your own versions!
