THE WORLD IS MY CANVAS.......Art journals

this month A VINTAGE JOURNEY is having a new challenge

WORDS THAT ARE SPECIAL
and I thought what words really represent me is "The world is my canvas" and with that I was inspired to do an art journal....well then that snowballed into 5 art journals, lol. So I wanted to share my designs with you.

I started with a mini sketch book and covered with hand made papers and art images that I love. Then blinged it to the next level with trims, flowers and Viva pearl pens.

ART JOURNAL GIVEAWAY
What I thought might be fun for everyone is that I am going to give away one of my little art journals so if you would like to be placed in the drawing just email me at
and in the subjects write "Art Journal give away" and on 6th I will choose a winner and ship you a little Journal just for you!
Good Luck

RETRO VALENTINE TAG......Tag Tuesday

This month I am celebrating all things Valentines or romantic and thought it would be fun to create a tag with a retro flair.

The products you will need
Chip board shipping tag
Gold Acrylic Paint
small Foam Brush
Foil Lip paper by Recollections
Pin Up Girl image from Gecko Galz

Red Heart Doilie by Recollections
Distress Ink in "Candied Apple"
White Card Stock
"Happy Valentines Day" Stamp by Craftsmart
Valentine Trim from Hobby Lobby

Start by paining the chip board tag with your gold paint and let dry.

take your gold foil lip paper and cut out to fit the bottom of the your tag. And print your vintage pin up image onto a piece of white card stock and get one of your heart doilies out.

Ink the edges of your tag paper and your pin up girl using your inking tool and red ink.

adhere the paper to the top of your tag using your liquid adhesive ( we suggest Scotch quick drying adhesive)

Now take your valentine sentiment stamp and on the remaining part of the white card stock you cut your bombshell out of stamp the sentiment in red ink.

Next cut into a strip measuring 4" x 1/2"

Using scissors cut strip into a fun banner then ink the edges with your red ink.

Now layer on your heart doilie, pin up girl, and then your sentiment banner.

Finish by tying fun valentines trim through hole to finish.

Freeby Friday....the art of Karol Bak

This month our artist spotlight and freeby Friday is on Karol Bak, her ethereal illustrations take us  to unimaginable worlds of imagination. Here is a bit about him;

Karol Bąk was born on 30 May 1961 in Koło in the Wielkopolska Region. He graduated from the Fine Arts High School of Poznań with a degree in Interior Exhibition Arrangement. In 1984, he was admitted to the Graphics Department of the State College of Art (currently the University of Arts in Poznań). He already knew what direction he wanted to take in his studies - painting, graphics and sculpture were perceived as a prestigious pursuit of “searching for pure art.” He was confident he had made the best choice. LIVE LOVE LAUGH....Alter it Wednesday

Good morning my Paper Crafting Peeps!

So starting this month I am starting my Alter it Wednesday each month and this month I had fun creating these adorable shrines for my craft studio.

So I was inspired by these little wooden shrine pieces I got at Michaels and started out by white washing the wood with watered down white chalk paint. The using scotch quick dry liquid adhesive I adhered the canvas fabric background and inked the edges with Ranger Distress ink in "Vintage Photo" also ink the edges of the wood stand giving it a distressed look.

The lady images are from Gecko Galz so you print the images to 4.5" then cut them out and ink their edges. The peach doilies are from Recollections at Michaels as are the flowers.
The Live, Love and Laugh digital stamps are from Gecko Galz as a giveaway just for my followers and are ready for you the grab below print them  then ink them with your brown ink and cut out.
then layer onto your shrine and finish off with Chrome color pearl pen by Viva and strip of sequined trim.

So I hope you will go out and create your own inspiring shrines.

FRILLY AND FUNKY CHALLENGE.....Be My Valentine?

Good Morning my Crafting Peeps!

This weeks Frilly and Funkie Challenge is all about Valentines day so I thought this card really captured the theme "Will you be my Valentine?". Valentines is all about romance, hearts, and love and I love the fact that this card embodies that.

I used a romantic image from Gecko Galz as well as a collection of Valentine themed ephemera from them (bingo card, feather, tickets. I created a pocket so I can place a gift card to my sweeties favorite place to shop (Best Buy) and over stamped it using a wonderful stamp by Fancy Pants. The paper I used was Paper Studios cream script and a little piece of red silk ribbon ties it all together.
I invite you all to create your own valentine and enter their fun little challenge!
Have fun
