Everything Plus The Kitchen Sink

Hello Everyone!

Well I am about to start my last day of the American Sewing Guild National confrence in Houston Texas and it has been a fun few days, I have met an erray of wonderful talented people and everyone has been incredibly taken with my products. But I thought I would pop into my blog and share with you a new project I finished. As you all know I love thinking outside the box when it comes to working on new projects. My favorite thing to do is to wander around Hobby Lobby and Micheals in the diffrent areas and find new ways to use scrapbooking supplies. Well about a week ago I found myself standing in the kitchen section of my local dollar store and got to thinking what can I do with everyday cooking items....hmmmm......and then I saw it! Before me was a silver cookie sheet and eureaka the cookie sheet message board was born.
So I took my $1 cookie sheet and some wonderful alcohol ink (as you all know I love me some alcohol ink) and covered the front with ink. Then I used papers from my stash and a bit of ephemera from Gecko Galz and the board was born. I was so pleased with the outcome that I have decided to include this as part of the Huge Christmas Class extravaganza at Stamp Antonio Arts in November....oh and if I have not told you about this little venture, every year we do a big christmas workshop day at Stamp Antonio Arts in San Antonio and this year each hour for 7 hours students will get to make an exciting little project tht they can give as gifts ....or keep. And this will be one of the projects we will be doing.
Now fear not if you cannot make this for what we plan to do is on the Gecko Galz Website starting in September we will be doing our 12 gifts of Christmas where we will each week for 12 weeks be doing a FREE project idea for you to make and give or keep so this one will be done in November. But if you can make it please come it is alot of fun and everyone gets a Christmas gift just for coming and cool doorprizes and of course all the products to make the items.
Also I wanted to give a shout out to an amazing online store called Nona Designs Art Supplies...they are a Altered Artist dream store and have the alcohol inks in individual bottles as well as Tim Holtz and Ranger products super cheap...they are our shop of the month and I invite everyone to go check the out at the link below! I hope you all enjoy my littl project and as always please feel free to leave a comment!
Happy Crafting

New Altered Fairy Jars

Hi Everyone!

Okay so to say I went a little crazy doing these is a bit of an understatement, I love doing them! But I will say this it is like building a ship in a bottle so there are time when I am not so nice with the language when a fairy plops over face down in a puddle of glue lol!  But in any case I wanted to share my lattest endevors with you...please enjoy them.

Little Pixie Jar

Hi Everyone!

Well I am gearing up for my super Christmas Class in November at Stamp Antonio in San Antonio, every year we do an all day event where we make a diffrent gift item to give at christmas every hour. I thought it would be fun to share my projects with all of you, so even if you cannot attend the event you can see what we will be doing!
The first project we will be doing is a little fairy jar, I was inspired by the art work by altered art artist Vintage Gypsy and wanted to try my hand at creating my own jar. I think the thing that made me most excited about this is that the look and feel of the jars reminded me of Lady Cottington fairies.  So now I am addicted to making these and have plans to do a mermaid bottle next! Thank you for visiting my blog and happy scrapping!

Domino Pendent fun

Hi everyone!

I am finally back on the mend again and am in a crunch getting ready for the American Sewing Guilds Annual confrence (it is going to be held here in Houston August 16-19) I along with 4 other friends will have a booth in the vendor hall and I will be selling my composition book journals and some fun new jewlery pieces I have been working on. I am doing tonz of Domino pendents (guess you could say I am obsessed with them, lol) and I thought it would be fun to show you some of the ones I have been doing and also give you all a few images to play with and possibly create your own pendents.

SNOW QUEEN

For this domino pendent I alcohol inked the domino then found this amazing metal piece at Micheals and added the blue bling. My friend Cat Woody created the naecklace and earings.

STEAMPUNK PENDENT

For this one I was given a vintage set of dominos and using Staz on ink I stamped the domino then went out to local antique shops and flea markets and found some fun watch parts that I used to create the collage top.

MUCHA'S MUSE

For this Necklace I used a vintage image I got from Gecko Galz and cut it out then layered it onto the domino after I alcohol inked it with butterscotch. And then my friend Cat created the Necklace and earrings.

A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM

Again for this piece I alcohol inked the domino using Eggplant and wild plum then I took a cool finding I got in the jewlery section of Hobby Lobby and using my pliers bent the piece around one side of the domino and attached using E600.

MERMAID DREAMS

For this one I found these great sea shell beads at Micheals and I alcohol inked the domino using Pool and Lettuce then using Staz On I stamped the mermaid then painted her using Smooch inks. Now to seal you will want to use spray seal that you can get in the paint area of your local hobby store.

BUBBLES

For this one again I used Alcohol ink to paint the domino using Sailboat and citrus then I found a cute temporary tattoo of a permaid that I placed on the top so it looks as if she is surrounded by bubbles.

BELIEVE

I started by painting the domino with Radiant Rain ink which gives it a wonderful frosted look then I stamped a border stamp along the left side using Staz On ink then I did the work believe on the right side.

FLOWER POWER

This domino was alot of fun I took multiple alcohol ink colors and dripped them onto the domino and let them sit for about 30 seconds before you use your blending tool this will create a great color blocking look. Then I stamped a daisy background  stamp using Staz On Ink.

GODDESS OF FIRE

For this one I did the same as above using red and butterscotch alcohol inks then stamped it with a great art deco lady stamp and Staz On.

ASIAN LADY

I painted this one using Pesto Alcohol Ink then I found a great purple Staz On Ink color to stamp the asian lady. remember you can use pieces  of larger stamps to create fun unique domino pendents.

Now for some fun little images for you to play with in making your domino pendents...just remember have fun and the sky is the limit on what you can do with your necklaces. You can check out more of my work in my Etsy store on line!
Also find me on Pinterest for more fun works!
