Spring Blossoms Ornament

Who says Ornaments are just for Christmas...not me that is for sure! I love creating ornaments for diffrent seasons and holidays and when Gecko Galz came up with the Spring Fling idea I thought it might be fun to create a Spring inspired Ornament. When I was at Micheals last month I discovered this amazing chipboard cone and thought it would be awesome to actually do a bit of mod podge on it using decorative napkins and then one thing lead to another and walla the Spring cone was born!
So if you like my little cone and want to find out just how I did it there are step by step instructions on the Gecko Galz website (under the Spring Fling area listed on their hme page) just go to www.geckogalz.com and discover all the wonderful projects you can make via the design team. Every two days they will be placing a new project on the site which could be fun.

Also if you have not done so the Easter challenge on my blog ends this Sunday so make sure if you want to do a project you have a link posted under  the Very Valentine blog entry (just press the image below to go there)

Just use one of the easter images I provides and create a fun project (could be a tag...a card....a mini book) and upload your link and you might just win 5 Digital collage sheets of your choice from Gecko Galz!!!! OMG fun hu?
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter!

Spring Is in the air with Gecko Galz

Hi everyone!

Well spring is in the air...okay so for some of you maybe Spring is still but a dream, but what a nice dream it is. And at Gecko Galz they have started showing off all their Spring colors and designs . They are starting their Spring Fling projects where all the design girls will be sharing their spring projects and giving instructions on how you can make each of the projects so I invite you to go check them out at www.geckogalz.com . Every 4 days there will be a new project.
As for me I just recently did a few classes at the Gecko Galz retreat and thought I would share the mini book design with all of you. As most everyone knows I am a huge fan of Graphics 45 papers and desided to do a vintage inspired book that the ladies could put their retreat photos or just memories.

Memories For Today 6x6 Mini Book

I used the Bo Bunny Bare Naked 6x6 refill pages as my book base and only used 3 of the pages covering them with Graphics 45 papers. The collage images I used are exclusive images Gecko Galz did for the retreat attendees as well as the Bingo Card is from the "Alter Me" collage set. I also used a great flower I got in a pack from Hobby Lobby, a small paper doillie by Wilton and ticket from Tim Holtz ticket book. The rings I actually found at the dollar store which is great! And brown tulle ribbon from Hobby Lobby.
For this book I wanted to create as many pockets as I can so I used the arch image as a pocket (great place to put a gift card).

The inside cover I used this great sentiment I got from Bo Bunny and another of the images from Gecko Galz. I decorated the page with a strip of film from Tim Holtz and a Viva Pearl Pen in cream...I love these pear pens they dry smooth and not tacky feeling.

Now for this page I used some incredible GCD paper that actualy had 4 6x6 squares with diffrent images on each one. I took two of the squares and using red line tape created a pocket page that I placed a shipping tag into, this is a perfect place to so more pictures or journaling. I took the B is Banners collage set by Gecko Galz shrunk one of the banners to 1" and in photo shop placed the letters that spelled out today and adhered the banners along the the outer edge.

On the back side I used another piece from the Bo Bunny Sentiment page and created another pocket in the center of the page to place a small tag. Also under the words you can place anotehr small picture.

I took the other two squares from the GCD paper and created another pocket, now if you cant find the GCD paper no problem just take heavier printed stock and stamp images in the corners to create your own pocket paper. Then on this page I cut a 4x4 brown cardstock mat and placed it on the page. Next I took some vintage lace and streached it across the page over a section of the mat, however I only attached lace to the page leave the section over the mat free so you can slip picture behind lace.
Last I addes the circle that says Dare to dream.

On the flip side I did basically the same but cut my mat to fit with the image . I used pop dots to atach the circles making sure the pop dot does not rest on the mat so you can slip in your picture without trouble.

On the next chipboard page I covered it with brown cardstock and then using The Tim Holtz bingo embossing folder I created an embossed pocket that I placed in the center of the page and added one of the lovely ladies from the Gecko Galz  collage sheet. I also made my own tag using the left overs of my sheet of  Graphics 45 paper and a few buttons from Bazzil Basics.

For the back side it is basically the same  with the excetion of this darling vintage pink mesh lace.

For the next pocket page I found some amazing GCD paper with 4 calendars per sheet and cut out 2 and created another fun page then slipped another shipping tag into the pocket.

The inside back cover is done a bit like the inside front cover just a diffrent image and sentiment block from Bo Bunny and you can add photos just above the sentiment.

And I finished up the book with this lovely ladie banner.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at one of my fun little mini books and just a reminder This month Gecko Galz is giving away exclusive products when you make a purchase at our website and Etsy Site.
