UP UP AND AWAY....postcard make and take

This weekend I was at the Gecko Galz retreat and had planed to do this little make and take...but alas and alack we ran out of time so I thought I would do a tuturial here!

TOOLS NEEDED
Postcards by Canvas Corp
Script Tissue paper by Canvas Corp
Distress Ink in Crushed Olive, Vintage Photo, Peacock Feathers
Archival Ink in Black
hot air balloon & sentiment stamp by Canvas corp
Red line tape
White card stock
Glimmer Mist in Verdigris by Tattered Angels
Scissors
Small ribbon by May arts
Ink blending tool
Stickles in Clear

First take your 3"x6" strip of white card stock and two stamps along with the archival ink.

Stamp your images onto the white card stock, you will want to use an ink like Archival ink or Staz On so there will be no bleeding when you do your water coloring.

It is okay if the sentiment stamp has broken areas because you will want that distressed look.

Get a piece of wax paper or plastic bag along with a bowl of water and a paint brush

Take your three distress inks and dab them onto the plastic sheet (or wax paper)

Add water to the color this will create water colors that you will use to paint your balloon with.

Don't worry if your color goes outside the lines you will be cutting the balloon out once it has dried

Take your vintage photo and Peacock Feathers ink and ink the edges of the stamped sentiment block.

Next take your postcard and using your vintage photo ink. ink the edge softly.

Take the tissue and crumple in hand.

pull apart a bit and tack down onto the postcard with liquid adhesive

Take your glimmer mist and spray tissue in spots to add a bit of color.

Cut out your balloon

Take your piece of burlap rick rack and add red line tape to the back.

Also place a small piece of redl line tape on the back of your hot air balloon

Next attach your piece of ribbon to the tape.

Layer on the the burlap rick rack to the left side of the postcard. Cut off any excess.

Place two pop dots onto back of the hot air balloon.

Also add 4 pop dots to the back of your sentiment.

place sentiment in the center of your bulap piece.

Then place the hot air balloon in the upper right corner of the postcard.

next add small pieces of redline tape in areas and attch ribbon to the tape to give the appearance of the ribbons floating in the air.

Finish off by adding stickles to balloon for a shimmer.

It is the perfect card topper or scrapbook decor.

Happy Scrapping
Leanne
